Jarod Polakoff

Jarod Polakoff is a photographer and image-based artist from Seattle, WA, currently working in New York, NY. Existing at the junction of fine art, portraiture, and fashion, Jarod’s work foregrounds parallels between the interior and exterior, positing absurdity, ambiguity, and corporeality as powerful tools for social inquiry and self-reflection. Jarod’s practice endeavours to subvert photographic tradition and question predominant hierarchies through a distinctly queer, non-white lens.

Jarod is completing his BFA in Photography and Imaging with a second major in Art History at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, as a member of the class of 2024.
